33-Year-Old Police Constable Arrested

A 33-year-old serving police constable was arrested today [May 8] by officers of the Organised, Economic Crime Department on suspicion of offences under the Bribery Act 2016, the police have confirmed.

Acting Deputy Commissioner Martin Weekes said, “A 33-year-old Smiths parish resident who is a serving police constable, was arrested today by officers of the Organised, Economic Crime Department on suspicion of offences under the Bribery Act 2016.

“An investigation has commenced and further enquiries will follow. The Bermuda Police Service wishes to make it clear that it takes any allegation of bribery and corruption among its officers and staff extremely seriously and that all allegations will be thoroughly investigated and dealt with according to law.”

      and in what divisions and ranks?? mind you it is an allegation by a “Disgruntled member of the public” and to a very un biased reporter. whilst at lets look at some of our so squeaky clean public servants.

          No they arent nervous. they have a good point. The police can only do so much. If you know something that will eliminate corruption in the service say something or shut up about it.

    It is what it is… At the end of the day corruption isn’t new in this country. I only hope that one day the head henchmen can be brought to justice instead of the little person.
